Viva Vivaldi! A Gala Opening Concert

Celebrate the opening of our third season with Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria in D Major performed by chamber choir, soloists, and an orchestra of period instruments. Also on the program are a selection of Vivaldi’s cantatas and concertos featuring Greek soprano Maria Georgakarakou, countertenor Michael Albert, baroque oboist Alicia Chapman, and baroque cellist Barbara Blaker Krumdieck.

Ensemble Serendipity Concert

Ensemble Serendipity will perform a concert of baroque music on original instruments Saturday, May 20th at 7:30PM. The Concert and reception will take place at St Alban’s Episcopal Church in Davidson. Suggested donation is $10.

Ensemble Serendipity features Soprano Leila Lazenby, joined by instrumentalists Rebecca Troxler (baroque flute), Barbara Blaker Krumdieck (baroque cello), Robbie Link (viola da gamba and cello), and Henry Lebedinsky (harpsichord).

Leila Lazenby currently lives in Atlanta. Rebecca Troxler is the Flute faculty at Duke University, Robbie Link performs and teaches in the Durham/Chapel Hill area, Barbara Krumdieck and Henry Lebedinsky both live in Davidson where they perform frequently. The musicians in Ensemble Serendipity travel far and wide in order to bring their passion for early music to a larger audience. This program will include works by Bach, Handel, Purcell and Vitali.
